Drift: Stock Z334/15/07 DriftxBattle: Round 1 Before I start this blog, I am happy to say that I got one out of the four classes done. I took the final today and I feel pretty good about it. I have 2 more finals and this semister is over! Good luck to everyone with finals! Oh and I have decided.. I'm no longer majoring in ME. Sorry to let everyone down. Al told us about DriftxBattle round 1, one month before the scheduled date. Which is a good thing, he knew we are laggers and wouldn't prep or work on our cars till the last minute. Not that we like doing that, it's because we have so much shit to do now days, we can barely afford to take a few days off to actually work on our cars. I had a lot of shit to do to the Corolla and I didn't get on it till 3 days before the event! fook! My list of shit to do range from simple oil changes to swaping steering rack and lsd. A few weeks before the event, my friend offered to let me take his 350z around to screw with. I was surprise that he just tossed me the keys and told me to go drift it!! I told him "drifting it around a few time is just teasing me." I then decided to ask him if I can take it to a competition, just to see what he says.... (Note: he bought the car a month ago, used from Nissan, it doesn't have plates yet!) He said "I will think about it"... Fast forward to 3 days before the event. Seeing that my car has a lot of shit to do, trying to work around tests for class and work schedule, I said fuck it and called him. He told me to come pick up the car! WTF!!? Now that is a straight up homie! I can't leave a car alone... I think some people know that.. It isn't Kevin approved unless it make noises... so..
The stock muffler was heavy as shit! It sounded alright with it on, but even better with it off! It sounded aggressive as shit! I made a quick piece to extend it to the bumper cut out.
I needed money for tires, so I sold everything I can quickly take off... for some quick cash!
I took off the heavy driver seat. Originally I was going to mount my race seat in there, fabricating my own seat mounts... I got pretty close to finishing it and I quit because I didn't see a point in doing so afterward.. So I scraped everything. Ev-dawg came with me and I want to thank him for riding with me because he helped me out during the event and shit like that. I hope Evan had as much fun as I did. hahahha shake and bake mufucka!

Thanks Paul for the photos.
Stock 350z is probably better drifting on flat/leveled surfaced, such as parking lot events. I was having a lot of understeer throughout the first bank. It sucks because once you initiate, the car will slide then understeer.. The other two Z's were have a lot of difficulty as well. Not too bad since it was my first time taking something other then my Corolla to the track. The rear tires were Falken ST-115 size 245! They were pretty sticky and I didn't have compressed air to increased the tire pressure. Fuggit! Please help SAVE ALTAMONT MOTORSPORT PARK! For more information on how to save motorsports and drifting, please click http://www.driftbattle.org/ This DOES affect everyone because if they can do it to this race track, that means they can do it everywhere/anywhere else! Fight for our rights to drift and race at the tracks! |
